Summer Programs at Glenbow

Kids have amazing experiences at Glenbow's Summer Youth Programs!

幸运快3Groups of five or more kids (maximum 30) are invited to become museum explorers. Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic Museum Educators will create a grand adventure where kids can discover cool facts and ideas about art, culture and history with hands-on activities in Glenbows galleries.

Perfect for groups of summer camps, daycares, birthday parties, home schoolers and eager young learners。 Programs can be booked at any time during museum hours; book more than one for a full morning/afternoon experience。 Our lunch room can be booked for complimentary use on a first-come, first-served basis。

Discover the incredible Victor Cicansky artworks in our feature summer exhibition and explore a gardener's creativity in bringing plants and vegetables alive in sculptural form。 Take inspiration from the gallery to create a hybrid vegetable no one has ever seen before and then move into our art studio to make a sculpture of your own。

Carefully look at a work of art and discover the world beyond its surface. Viewing art is more than a visual experience; an art encounter can awaken all of your senses! After looking deeply and exploring the role your senses play in perceiving the themes of several artworks, move into our art studio to create your own piece of unique art by moving around our sensory stations of looking, hearing, feeling and smelling.

Exploring Canadian Landscapes

View the exquisite artworks from our historical collection to discover how artists explored our nation and shared their adventures with the world。 Write an imaginary postcard from these beautiful places and then move into our art studio to add colourful illustrations to your words。

Calgary in the Making

Join us on a hands-on exploration of artifacts used by farmers, ranchers, and the Northwest Mounted Police as we discover the history of Calgary. See what our city looked like before the skyscrapers and imagine farm life as we explore Glenbow's Mavericks galleries. Complete your experience by designing your own branding iron symbol!

Welcome, Newcomers!

Imagine yourself as a 19th century immigrant to Canada and rummage through the suitcases of people who came to Alberta to find out how and why peoples of varied ancestry made Alberta their home and discover these 'newcomers' experiences in Glenbow's Mavericks gallery。

Minerals Rock!

Join us on a hands-on exploration of rocks and minerals。 Specific areas of focus include streak, lustre, texture, hardness and crystal shapes as well as current and historical uses of minerals。 Finish your analysis with a treasure hunt in our Minerals gallery!

Knights of Glenbow

Do you have what it takes to become a medieval knight? Travel back in time and experience this exciting era in our Warriors gallery。 Hear the stories, learn sword fighting moves, try on armour and see if you have what it takes to become a Knight of the Glenbow。

Artifact Explorers

Join a Museum Educator as you discover treasures from Glenbow Museum's collection of artifacts from around the world. Through sketching and journaling, explore the galleries and create your own interpretation of the collection.
